Meet the entrepreneur behind Go See Talents
I’ve been working in the tech industry for the past 20 years and I’ve seen how companies struggle to find the right talent. And many times without success due to the lack of developers. At the same time the industry is booming. Last year, over €1,3 billion was invested in tech companies in Stockholm, whereof €106 million just within fintech, according to The Nordic Tech List.
I want the Stockholm tech and fintech scene to flourish, so in April 2017, I founded Go See Talents with the ambition to grow the number of talented developers in Stockholm.
I started my journey as a developer and I know development is complex. Therefore, I didn’t want to work like the traditional recruitment and consulting companies. Being a good developer is about so much more than the technologies you’ve used, and it’s hard, not to say impossible, to find the right fit just by matching a CV with a requirement list.
Instead, I wanted to focus on finding talented individuals and help them grow. This could mean finding recent graduates with the right drive and give them the tools they need to kickstart their career, as well as making it possible for foreign developers with the right mindset to come to Stockholm.
And like I said, I want to help them grow. To make that happen, we have put together a trainee program and a team of mentors with 15-20 years of experience within development and a genuine interest in helping people evolve.
For fast growing tech companies and startups, taking on many new developers might be a challenge. And that’s where our mentors can contribute. For example, we recently built a whole team from scratch for the fintech startup Open Payments teaming up one of our mentors with several tech talents with various backgrounds.
The mentorship is a cornerstone of Go See Talents together with our talented team of developers. And all of us know development, inside and out. But the most important thing is that we all have a genuine appetite for learning and personal growth.
